The Artists’ Circle of Annapolis Valley
Who We Are
The Artists’ Circle of the Annapolis Valley is a registered co-operative of artists living or working in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. We are into our thirty fifth year of learning and enjoying painting and other forms of art together. Our members work in various mediums and are at all levels of achievement. Membership is open to emerging and experienced artists in the Annapolis Valley area. Whether you are an experienced artist or want to expand on your knowledge, the Artists’ Circle offers a place for all to enjoy.
Come Out To Meet Our Group
Anyone interested in meeting the group and learning more about what we do, please join us as our guest. The Artists’ Circle meets the third Tuesday of the month. Meeting dates will be posted on our website and facebook page -click HERE. There are no meetings in June, July, and August as our Art Shack Gallery artists are busy hosting and displaying their creations at the Gallery. December and January are also months that we do not meet as we’re busy catching up on our painting, traveling or spending quality time with the family.
Our meetings involve more than the operational business of the club. Around 10:15 am, we begin with a morning of painting together, learning from demos or being guided through a new art form. After a short BYO lunch, we will enjoy a social/networking portion to get to know more about each other. We conclude with the meeting where all are encouraged to participate and be involved in decision making in the interests of our club. Meetings end approximately 2:30 pm. During the year, we organize and host occasional public workshops by guest artists from around Nova Scotia. This provides us with opportunities to learn from other artists working in different mediums. Our members are offered the space first and benefit from a reduced member’s rate.
The Art Shack Gallery
In the summer months we open our gallery to active members who may be eligible to display and sell their art work. The Art Shack Gallery is located on the shore of the Bay of Fundy in Margaretsville, Nova Scotia. Members are not required to show at the Gallery. Some may prefer to paint for personal enjoyment only, while others may choose to take advantage of the exhibits and shows arranged by the club throughout the year.
