Preferred Medium: Oil

Dale W. Selig was born in Bridgewater, N.S. on March 22, 1952.

In his high school years he loved to sketch and sometimes drive his motorcycle from Lunenburg to Halifax to tour and enjoy the beautiful art in the city galleries.

Dale also cannot get enough of being next to the sights and sounds of surf on beaches.

Dale’s first art instructor was June Olsen, a great watercolour painter in Lunenburg.

Also, Dale took summer classes with a famous painter, John Cook.  John retired as an art instructor from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and taught great lighting effects, shadows and colour balance.

Dale’s favourite medium to paint with is still oil because of its luster. He also uses watercolour, acrylic and sometimes pastels.

Dale is very happy to be a part of the “Artists’ Circle” within the Annapolis Valley.
